Quenching and tempering treatment: the heat treatment method of high temperature tempering after quenching, which is called quenching and tempering treatment.


Quenching of steel: it is a heat treatment process that the steel is heated to a certain temperature above Ac3 or Ac1, maintained for a certain time, and then cooled at a proper speed to obtain martensitic and / or bainite structure, which is called quenching.


Tempering of steel: the process of hardening the workpiece, heating it to a certain temperature below Ac1 point, keep it warm for a certain time, and then cooling it to room temperature. Its purpose is to adjust the mechanical properties of the workpiece, such as strength, hardness, plasticity, toughness and red hardness, reduce or eliminate the quenching stress, avoid deformation and cracking, and maintain the dimensional stability in the applicable process.


Normalizing of steel: refers to the heat treatment process of cooling steel or steel pieces in static air after being heated to 30 ~ 50 ℃ above Ac3 (hypoeutectoid steel) or Acm (hypereutectoid steel) for a proper time. Normalizing of steel heated to 100 ~ 150 ℃ above Ac3 is called high temperature normalizing.


Annealing of steel: refers to the heat treatment process of heating steel or steel pieces to a proper temperature, holding them for a certain time, and then cooling them slowly.


Advantages: it can eliminate the internal stress, change the crystal structure, improve and eliminate the unstable factors, and make the heat treatment products more stable and durable.


Application: improve the surface hardness, wear resistance, fatigue strength, surface hardness and core toughness of steel


Function: improve the hardness, mainly used to improve the cutting performance of materials.
